This was a steamy, slow-burn with a deep-dive into the UK wedding photography industry. And it kept me turning pages and yelling at the main characters throughout.
About the Book
Stella Price is determined to become a successful wedding photographer, even if it means learning from Connor Knight, a wedding shooter with sexy rock star status and an ego to match.
Burned by an affair that ended her last career, Stella should know better than to get entangled with Connor during a residential course in a romantic French chateau. But while his arrogance turns her off, his talent turns her on.
Their clashes lead to a whirlwind of passion, but Stella struggles to frame a future with a man who’s come to distrust “happily ever afters” and hides a softer side behind his image. Can Stella learn from her past mistakes and teach Connor about real love before he disappears from the picture?
My Thoughts
I always love a slow burn – but sometimes it’s excruciating. This book hit just this side of that. You will probably scream (at least internally) in frustration more than once. It had some steamy scenes, but they were mostly closed door. That’s my preference, but I know some don’t prefer that. I personally wish there was some sort of standardized system for this, like with movies, so that we could all find our comfort level. I never dock an author for my own mistake though.
If you’re a frequent visitor to this blog, you’ll know that I love side characters. From Sam Gamgee to Ron Weasly, and honestly probably before, my heart has always belonged to the sidekicks. I always think a writer to can write relatable, enjoyable side characters that stand up just as much as the main characters is someone who is especially good at the craft. And this story was rife with wonderful side characters. From Stella’s family and best friends to the quirky cast of characters that make up the wedding photographers and clients, there were so many people to love!
Amazon already has pre-orders up for the next book in the series, which is set to release later this year. Don’t look at the description if you haven’t finished this one, because it has spoilers. I can’t wait to read that one and will definitely keep an eye on this author! I’m so grateful to the author and Love Books Tours for including me on this tour.
Who’s It For?
If you’re up for a slow-burn dappled with steamy scenes, this is the perfect book for you. You’ll get an in-depth view of the UK wedding photography industry, and several side stories that are equally enjoyable.
