About the Book

Doggerland was the prosperous and powerful kingdom that connected Britain to Europe 8,000 years ago. But from great beginnings, it now lies drowned; lost forever, far below the cold waves of the North Sea. Its disappearance was caused by a great tsunami. And what about the people who lived in Doggerland? More importantly, what about the survivors? Part rhyme, part prose coming of age/love story, reminiscent of Beowulf, The Tempest and Hunting of the Snark.

About the Author

When Robin Bennett grew up he thought he wanted to be a soldier until everyone else realised that putting him in charge of a tank was a very bad idea. He then became an assistant gravedigger, in a giant cemetery in London. After that he became a private tutor to the rich and famous, then about one hundred other things … until finally settling down to write improbable stories to keep his children from killing each other on long car journeys.

He once heard himself described on the radio travel news as ‘some twit’ when his car broke down and blocked all the traffic going around Hyde Park Corner in London.

This is about right.

Robin is married with three children. He spends most of his time in his own head.
