Hi, I’m Amorina Carlton

I am a Southern women’s fiction writer, currently finishing up my first novel. I’ve been a writer my entire life, and I finally found myself in the position to focus on my dream of finishing my first book in the past couple of years. I finished writing it several months ago and am deep in the editing phase. I also wrote most of my second novel during NaNoWriMo in 2021.

The working title of my first novel is “The Holloway Boy.” It is a social commentary on abuses of power filtered through a romance set in the South. I’m working on publishing sometime within the next year.

My “primary” job is taking care of my very active preschooler, so I don’t get to spend as much time writing as I’d like. But I’m getting there. I’m in the final editing stages of my current work in progress, and I’m also working on finishing the writing on my second. This is a place for me to get to know you – my readers.

I’ve spent most of my life in small-town Southern towns, until I made a move to New Orleans, the smallest big city around. It’s still in the South, but it has its own unique culture.

My goal here is to share my thoughts on writing, book reviews, and eventually some of my work with you. Thanks so much for stopping by.
