About the Book

All she wanted was a one-night stand.

All he wanted was her.

When up-and-coming lawyer Cassandra Leigh dragged a handsome stranger into a storage room at her favorite club, all she wanted was to blow off some steam.

She never expected to see him again. Especially not in her office, sporting a charming grin and an offer she could not refuse.

As they spend more time together, James proves to be patient, kind, and incredibly skilled in the bedroom. Cassandra is almost tempted to let him in.

But when her abusive ex-boyfriend hunts her down, his sudden reappearance sends her into a tailspin that threatens to destroy her career, her friendships, and her burgeoning relationship.

Will Cassandra let her fears dictate her future, or will she lower her guard and learn to trust again?

My Thoughts

We need a consensus on what we mean by “steamy.” Sometimes, it’s pretty mild, but not always. Let’s put those peppers on the books or something similar! I prefer clean romance, but I never blame the authors for my mistake. Besides, I like to branch out sometimes. On occasion, it’s new book love. Sometimes, I find out I was right.

So, this wasn’t my cup of tea, but if you enjoy steamy romance, you’ll love it. The MMC seems sweet., but he also comes off as controlling, which I do not like. But that seems to be big among #bookstagrammers lately, so you might?

I did enjoy the FMC. Some of the personal issues she deals with are great to see in an MC. We don’t see them from a personal level very often, so I like to see this rep. I also really enjoyed her group of friends. They were a lively group, and I enjoyed the strong female friendships. If you’re looking for your next steamy read, I definitely think you should give this one a try.

I’m so grateful to the author and Love Books Tours for including me on the tour.

Who’s It For?

If you love steamy, open-door romance, this book is for you. The story involves a lot of past trauma and some modern trauma, so it’s incredibly important to take care of your mental health.
