One magical weekend. One unforgettable connection. One impossible separation.

Amy didn’t expect to fall for anyone when she flew to Strasbourg for a cozy holiday escape with her best friend, Lila, and Lila’s group of friends—especially not a charming American pilot she meets by chance under the twinkling lights of the city’s famous Christmas market.

After just one enchanted evening and a perfect winter day exploring the festive stalls and snowy streets of Strasbourg, Amy and Jack share a connection that feels anything but fleeting. But with Jack due back at Ramstein Air Base in Germany—and a likely deployment on the horizon—their time together ends before it really begins.

They didn’t have time to exchange more than first names… but neither can forget their brief encounter.

Set against the heartwarming backdrop of Europe’s most magical holiday destination, The Christmas Market Mashup is a festive romantic comedy about missed chances, bold choices, and finding your way back to the one who lit a spark you never expected.

From the world of 4 Days in Paris and The Paris Predicament, this third installment in the Sparks in Paris series follows Amy, Lila’s best friend, as she discovers that love—like travel—sometimes requires a leap of faith. With vivid scenes that bring France to life, this story will leave you longing to book the next flight to explore the charm, magic, and romance of Strasbourg for yourself.

My Thoughts

What an uplifting and sweet holiday romance. I haven’t read the first two books in this series – and while I have the slight “I’m missing something” feeling I always get when that happens, this book can absolutely be read as a short and sweet holiday treat!

This is a novella, so it’s quick and easy to read – maybe while you’re traveling this holiday season. And, if, like me, you’re stuck at home, you can at least take a mental vacation to a picturesque European Christmas village alongside our delightful MC Amy.

Like so many of us, Amy is too busy for vacations – until her friends invite her to France and her boss actually encourages her to go (part selfish, so she doesn’t burn out, and partly because of his own life crisis!). Amy is a practical gal and thinks her friends who have fallen in love with Frenchmen are a little kooky and insists they she won’t meet anyone on this trip.

Famous last words, anyone? But she does at least keep her promise to herself and her mom that he’s not a Frenchman – just an American temporarily in France. A military pilot overseas, since this is set in 2004, when there was still a LOT of that.

What proceeds is a whirlwind romance deserving of its own Hallmark movie script. Like, really, I hope to see this optioned soon! Or one of the others that is getting in on that fun.

I loved all of the supporting characters – right down to the grumpy, emo Emilie and adorable Mami, her grandmother. They both factor into Amy’s story but have their own highlights as well. For a short novella, the author managed to pack a ton of character, ambiance, and French food into the pages.

If you love a good Christmas romance, pick this novella up! You won’t regret it! And, I’m sure, like me, you’ll be adding the first two books to your TBR as well. I’m so grateful to the author and LBT for including me on this tour and can’t wait to read more!
