This was a super cute book, and as a light summer read, where you turn off your brain and don’t read too much into it, this is a great book to read by the pool or seaside.

My Thoughts
But this has made me wonder if I’m reading too much into things or how many books we’ve written off as “beachy summer reads” had some deep topics lingering right under the surface! Because this tackled things like corruption, chasing your dreams, and hostile workplace environments.
Also, I don’t know if it was on purpose, but the MMC, Michael, seems like he’s autistic-coded. Like, in the rash of late-adult diagnoses, considering he runs a social media company – somebody in his circle has 100% diagnosed him and sends him funny autism videos to make him think. Michael especially rings the autism bell for me, because my doctor mentioned how “stoic” I am. Michaels saying he doesn’t feel “serious,” totally meshes with the fact I don’t feel “stoic.” Y’all are seeing something different than what we’re feeling? Our female FMC, Nat, is also sporting some neurodivergent signs. All we need now is more actually named rep!
Enzo, and Lexi, are another pair of fantastic supporting BFF characters. You know I love some supporting characters. And boy is the big bad in this one BAD! Being able to write a loveable sidekick and an equally despicable villain is one sign of a great writer. I also adored Jamie, and I’m just saying, I hope I’m not the only one who was a little bit #TeamJamie.
I’m so grateful to the author and Love Books Tours to have been included in this tour, and look forward to reading more by this author!
